Users of the website can pan and zoom a map of the U.S. and click on individual sites to pull up information about specific facilities. The map includes government data on toxic pollution, data from facilities about their efforts to protect the environment, and information on emissions and trends.

The site was created faculty at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, Harvard Business School and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, along with Dartmouth students.
