This 2004 report from the U.S. Agency for International Development diagnoses the economic, ecological, political, social and security dimensions of conflict timber in both Asia and Africa. While not addressing climate change specifically, the lessons contained in this report will help managers understand the challenges associated with responsibly managing forests in places of conflict. The report includes a framework to identify the conditions under which timber is likely to become a conflict commodity, helping companies better predict where and when their resources must be managed more carefully.
