Most particleboard and medium-density fiberboard -- used in doors, furniture, and cabinets, among other products -- is made with formaldehyde-based resins that are probable human carcinogens. In this report, Green Seal recommends eight wallboards that are not only formaldehyde-free but also made from agricultural waste, post-consumer waste fiber, or recovered wood.
