In 2002, the IAI partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to create this industrywide protocol for measuring and reporting greenhouse-gas emissions. Based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol created by the World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, it aims to help streamline the reporting process by improving communication among employees, government agencies, and public stakeholders.
