A one-day workshop exploring use of an Environmental Management System (EMS) framework, ISO 14001 third party auditing as well as the possibility of forming partnerships to trade in-house external auditing responsibilities.

The workshop will focus on how to use an Environmental Management System (EMS) framework to pursue sustainability objectives that align with the Natural Step. Topics will include linking the EMS to budget/planning, purchasing, performance reviews, measurement, training, and documenting progress towards fulfilling your organization's Sustainability Plan, as well as ISO 14001 third party auditing and the possibility of forming partnership to trade in-house external auditing responsibilities.

Representatives from public and privte sectors will share their EMS implementation experiences, followed by a series of hands-on exercises to help participants understand how to set up an EMS for their organizations.
