This
online calculator was developed by the U.S. EPA to help solid-waste planners and organizations track and voluntarily report greenhouse gas emissions reductions. The Waste Reduction model, known as WARM, calculates and totals GHG emissions, allowing waste-management professionals to compare conventional waste-management practices with alternatives such as source reduction, recycling, combustion, composting, and landfilling. Use the online form, or download and complete the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to calculate emissions for a variety of materials in metric tons of carbon equivalent (MTCE). Download the user's guide for detailed instructions on using the program.
