What Dave says is so true. It gets even worse when you consider that each of these billions of people also have a job, in a facility where they work.
Do these facilities have light bulbs? Well actually, it's even worse than that because they will most likely use fluorescent tubes - containing mercury.
A few countries now mandate that these must be recycled, but many still don't. A billion tubes, at 5mg of mercury each = an environmental disaster.
