Why a Coal Guy is Going Green

Duke Energy, Rogers and the Future

If you believe that we can get out of this mess (Climate Change) with minimal effects from what we have done in the past and what we continue to do (even with the mitigating changes in behavior), then you can read this article and feel positive that we have another convert from the business side who will work 'hard' to go in the direction that will 'solve' our climate disaster.
One the other hand, if you understand that the effects of what we have all ready done has the unstoppable inertia of a 1000 sq. mile astroid then you will look at this article and feel some dispair and saddness that Rogers (and seemingly the interviewer) have no idea what the effects to come are, no matter what we do now. The only thing we can do now, I believe is to possibly not go beyond the tipping point. If we do then our world will not only change but it will become a hell for ALL living beings, human or otherwise. Remember that the Earth has experienced that kind of disastorous change before, but most of the species living on the earth died off. Do we want to take the chance? Is the short term worth it? What if you are wrong? If I am wrong, will the resulting world be worse?

Proof is in the Pudding

Why are you all fooled by Rogers? Have a look at the amount of renewable energy that Duke has ACTUALLY done, and you will see that it is virtually zero!! The man is all talk and no action, and you should be ashamed of yourself and for the "green community" for falling for his antics. Look at the proof and not the moving lips!
