interesting finding
I find it very interesting the part stating that we think of ourselves as "consumers" more than "citizens" and that the most important (easiest?) step people think they are taking is through the power of the purse.
Is this because people think the politicians won't listen? Haven't in the past? That corporate interests have greater sway than regular citizens so why bother?
An e-mail to your congressional representatives doesn't take much time, nor does calling their office saying you expect them to take action on this important issue, in a way that ... (fill in the blank with your highest priority principles). Personally I like the e-mail approach and do it on every issue of importance to me. It can't be a time constraint, since people call friends to chat about nothing and spend lots of time on Facebook.
What gives? Others opinions/response?
