Manufacturing migration BACK to North America
On the topic of manufacturing migration is it possible that growing demand from consumers for greener products could create a manufacturing migration back to NorthAmerica for light industry? Consumers are asking questions about the total environmental manufacturing costs and seeking products that are designed AND manufactured in an environmentally-respectful country with rules and regulations on waste disposal as well as ethical treatment of employees(read China here!).
Will consumers choose to vote with their dollars for companies that manufacture locally rather that outsourcing production to more environmentally leanient countries?
