Standards + Metrics

Excellent. A good follow up article might highlight status / commentary around generally accepted standards and metrics methodologies for supply chain sustainability (e.g. visible such as ISO 14000, but also "next generation / what to expect"). Thanks!

Eco Vendors

Great article. Very in-depth.

I have noticed a huge increase in the number of Fortune 1000 firms, as well as governmental organizations, that have switched to us for their promotional products, as they need to have a certain percentage of their business going to environmentally-friendly vendors. We have been focusing on advertising specialties that are made of recycled materials, organic materials and reusable and recyclable components for a number of years now. It has just been in the last 18 months where we have seen an avalanche of companies making the switch. Some are doing it for corporate sustainability, others for appearance sakes and others because it is the right thing to do. Either way, it is a win-win situation for businesses and for the environment.

I imagine this fundamental paradigm shift toward green vendors is happening across the board in most industries--as alternative vendors appear in nearly every industry and niche.
