How U.S. or Canadian Corporations Have Destroyed Groundwater
What a joke, will U.S. become climate change leader? In Alberta, we have case after case of gas/oil industrial practices that totally undermine, contaminate, rendering groundwater totally unusable and toxic in some cases.
Water flood by gas/oil as they discharge vast amount of their industrial waste water is one of these practices. If they(g/o) can pump it down, they will. Trouble is the waste water doesn't stay down. It boils up to surface! Waste water also mixes with natural groundwater, the toxins in the waste water including radioactive material, heavy metals, industrial solvents, natural and unnatural elementals are highly elevated thousands of times higher than naturally ocurring.
Anyone who uses groundwater for their water source is at risk as the g/oil industry is highly intensive in Alberta. These U.S. companies have wrecked havoc in Alberta to groundwater. This is not repairable in my lifetime. So much for being a leader--a leader in completely destroying our most important resource . Rose Balcom, Didsbury, Alberta
